Previously we saw;
The evil Cowled Criminal collected several powerful artifacts through out time and used them to bring Anti-Story to the Multiverse. This entropy wave of destruction has been sweeping through all the alternate earths, destroying each one and then moving onto the next.
Claiming to be the forgotten son of the Hooded Hood, the Cowled Criminal built up a massive crisis in order to get revenge on his dad for ignoring him all these years.
Fooling the captured Yo into pouring his/her power into certain machines, the Cowled Criminal added that power to his own retconning abilities. He also recruited various agents to help him in his campaign.

The Lurker has always stood outside of time and space, helping the heroes of the Parodyverse wherever possible. He has kept complete files on everyone, preparing for the day when the Cowled Criminal would begin his plans.
When that day came he went into action. He sent his faithful servant Humdinger out to gather several heroes and a few villains. They were gathered from throughout time. He then sent them to several key heroic eras to protect his machines (gigantic Vibrational Sporks) from the Cowled Criminal’s Shadow Demons. Across the timeline and throughout both the Parodyverse and its twin, the Satireverse, heroes fought the Shadow Demons and the Anti-Story wave valiantly.

The Cowled Criminal merged one of his Shadow Demons into Humdinger, filling her with false hate towards her mentor. Under his command she killed the Lurker even as both the Parodyverse and the Satireverse vanished to the Anti-Story onslaught.

All of this happened in previous chapters of Crisis on Infinite Parodyverses.

This chapter has been broken up into two chapters so if I promised your particular character in this one, he or she may wind up in the next one.

Somewhere in darkness, in a spot unknown and removed from all universes, the Cowled Criminal enjoyed his triumph.
“I’ve done it! The prime universe has been destroyed! Now all my schemes have come to pass! Wait! Why hasn’t my strength increased?”
Chronic, the undead musician emerged from the darkness to ask a question. “Steve wants to know about the world you promised us? Now that everyone is dead when can we get it?”
“Silence! I have my own questions! The Lurker is dead but I don’t have his energies. Two universes are gone but I don’t have their power. What has happened? My Anti-Story ate through both the Parodyverse and the Satireverse. Every era was effected. All the heroes must have been vanquished. My Shadow Demons returned into me yet I possess no new life energy. What happened?”
Chronic offered, “Maybe the Lurker pulled the rug out from under you?”
“SHUT UP or I’ll do worse then return you to a useless addict with no way to get a fix!”
A screen appeared from nowhere, showing five more Earths.
“I’m not sure what happened. When both universes where destroyed my citadel at the end of time was moved into a stronger location. Just as I planned. Yet while we did shift, the worlds did not vanish into the Plaid Wall. If they had I would have gained their power.
Well, there are still five other Earths. The Lurker is dead so nothing can stop me from taking them.”




Crisis on Infinite Parodyverses Part #9 Earths Doin’ the Limbo




Elsewhere in a space of nothing the Hexagonal ship of the Lurker floated. Inside it a hero arrived home.
His name is Access and he can cross the gap between universes like someone might cross a street. Years ago, right after he started his super hero career, Access was split into two beings: the Lurker and the evil Narrator. Recently the Lurker changed the Narrator back into his true Access form.
Since then he’s been serving the rapidly aging Lurker.
Now he exits the portal from Earth, filled with awe at the sights he had just seen there. “Master Lurker you’ll never believe what’s going on down there! I had just returned from Trickshot’s home earth when I found myself in the middle of…What the?”
The strange man in green, purple and white robes known as Soothsayer was on his knees talking to the Lurker’s inert bloody body. “You knew you were going to die. Why did you let it happen? Everything is gone except me.”
“What happened? Oh no!” Access started to rush towards the scene. “You’re that end of the world guy the Lurker told me about! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?”
Leeta was the woman known as Humdinger but now she appeared as a broken sad mess. The killer impulses that the Cowled Criminal installed within her were now long gone. She choked out, from the floor, “He didn’t do it Scott! I did!”
Scott Asher, known as Access, is in love with this woman. Seeing her like this stopped him in his tracks.
“Who are you?” Soothsayer asked Leeta. He had only seen her before as the controlled, angry Humdinger.
Scott ignored Soothsayer and asked his love, “What do you mean?” He moved towards her and helped her up.
“I was controlled Scott!” She cried in his arms. “As Humdinger I killed him!”
As her sobs filled the silent empty ship, the two men became quiet. Soothsayer and Access both knew the time for questions was not now.
That’s when the Lurker’s voice caused all three to look up in shock. Despite the bleeding corpse sprawled near them, the voice of the dead man spoke up from what appeared to be his body hovering above, “Leeta do not grieve.”
“Master Lurker? It can’t be!” Leeta replied. Her hopes sank again as all three realized it was a pre-recorded hologram speaking to them.
“I was aware of your possession. You had no choice. I am indeed dead. However because you acted on the forced promptings of my enemy you saved the two universes. Killing me released all my life energy, energy given to me by the Omnisoul. I used it to power the Vibrational Sporks. Out of my essence the NEVERVERSE was created. It absorbed the two universes. In my haste though I couldn’t refine it so all time is one. This should give young Justin Tyme a much needed rest I think. At any rate both universes are partly merged. The lasting effect will sort of calm the populace of the partly merged ParodySatireverse.”
Leeta and Soothsayer continued to look in shock at the image. Access started to realize why he saw the things he saw on Earth.
The Lurker’s message continued, “The worlds are still in danger however. When the vibrations that are merging the universes slow down enough they will occupy the same place and destroy each other!
“There is a way that I have told young Greg Dean about. He will explain.
Good Bye Leeta. You have been like the daughter I never had. Please remember that I do not blame you for what you did. You now are free from the Cowled Criminal’s power. Use your own gifts, all three of you and the Dean child, to save the remaining universes. Stop the Criminal my friends.
Leeta, always remember, I love you.”
She broke down into tears while Scott Asher held her. He did not comment how strange it was to see his older twin die. He did not talk of their coming struggle for survival. All he did was hold onto the woman he loved as she cried for the man whom was like a father to her.

“The Lurker was a great man. Let us not allow his sacrifice to be in vain.” Greg Dean said mournfully. He was part Xylonian
and part Makluan and as such he had small green scales all across his pi9nk colored body. His hair was short and white and his eyes were bright blue. As the last survivor of a world where all aliens were forced to become human he never would have fit in. In some ways the destruction of his Earth and the fact that his father, Andrew Dean, had sent him here, has made his life perhaps longer.
He came here as a infant but grew to his present state of roughly nineteen years within a few days.
Leeta, Scott Asher, Soothsayer and Greg stood by the smooth black reflective cylinder that housed the Lurker’s body. It was already loaded and ready to be jettisoned into the strange non-space outside of the ship.
Greg continued, “The Lurker was a great man. He gave his all for the Earths. It was his fondest wish to save us all from destruction. It was also his final act. He’s all around us now. Only his body lies here.”
With a nod Scott activated the controls. The cylinder that contained the Lurker’s body shot out into the Neververse. “Let his remains lie in eternal peace.”
Leeta spoke through her tears, “I loved you. I truly loved you. You were like a father to me. I’ll miss you Lurker. I’ll… I’ll make you proud.”



Elsewhere in the darkness;
“Damn him I know what he did! So what! I’ll still destroy them all anyway! This will give me a chance to truly repay my father… the Hooded Hood!
“Give me a break! You’re a looser! This just gives your daddy a chance to spank the crap out of you!” Swift, the JBH member and the Cowled Criminal’s captive taunted.
The villain spoke to Chronic whom was just sitting back, strumming on his possessed guitar Steve, “Do with Swift what you will Chronic. Just don’t kill him.”
“Heh. Sounds like a plan.”
Swift’s screams could be heard through out the strange, vast, dark fortress.



Parodopolis right now;
Old Victorian buildings stand next to modern skyscrapers. Some of the land is covered in streets of the modern era while other parts look like grassy fields. A Native American family stands outside of their tent home to view futuristic buildings from the 31’st century.
A Roman chariot far from its home grinds to a halt as its centurion passenger stares on at the company of WWII British solders whom are also far from where they used to be.
Polypheme 1, Ultraninja, Visible Boy, Philaana, Karate Knight, Beth Shellet and Exile look on in confusion at it all from in front of 18th century buildings.
Madge Canterbury, dull thud, Ziles, Avatar, Sersi, Little Guy, Armored Amphibian, Man of Armor, Brooke Lynn Bridge, Cold Warrior, Partial Man, Golden Elemental, Shoveit Errend and The Anti-Space Ghost all gape at the strange mix of past, present and future.
“This is Tish Tily for Action News 10. As you can see behind me things have gotten very strange here in Parodopolis! The last thing anyone remembers was the strange Plaid Wall destroying everything in its path. Then there was a flash of light and now it seems the entire world has gone crazy.”
Behind Tish could be seen a blend of architecture from the year 2020 ad and the ruins of the Post-Resolution War era. Captain Basil Pepper, CometSailorSpaceCadet!, Frozen Produce, James McWhord and Amelia all watched Tish with confusion.

It was this way all over the two Earths.
High over London Penny Madrigal with her faithful talking weapon, Knifey, flew Penny’s Stinson 108 Voyager right underneath a freaked Falcon and Darkhwk.

Rocket Raccoon laughed with glee as he found himself surrounded by Uhunalura, Pigeon, Valeria, Lesbian Liberator, Inter-Planet Janet, Anna Kensington, Pegistar, She-Bop and Caphan Ex-Slave Girls Noona, Deeela and Luuma.

Michael McKinley crouched on a futuristic rooftop in GothemMetropolis York. He eyed Nite-Owl of the Wonderful Seven and the CacklingCappuccinoSupernaturalSleuth! as they circled each other.

Aboard their ship at sea the JollyJauntySweetmeatSwashbuckler!, the Purple Pirate and his son Phillip all stared open mouthed at the magnificent land of Atlantis. The island continent shined in the sun. Its ruler, Aaron, was missing since the flash of light. The Lady Chain-An and her friend Chak-Ka-Kaun watched back at the ship with equal amazement.

Deep in space the Impetuous Guard float, ready for battle. Their leader, Gladeater, looks on at their new foes. Behind him float Magica, Midmaid, Starbursts, Temptest, Titus and Qua-Star. These heroes of the She-Yar Empire faced up against a foe they’ve never seen before; CrazySugarCosmicIconoclast! and his CrazySugarCosmicIconoclastCollective!

In a tower altered by time, Perfection O’Toole and the Word compare notes while Pelopia looks on.

Various incarnations of Kink, Wang, Konk and so many others all argue about which one is the correct version.

“Once again there is no reason why any of this has happened. All we can guess is that it must be a result of the strange crisis that has recently hit us. This reporter can only hope Hatman and the rest of the Legion are on it. The is Tish Tily for Action News 10 saying good luck and be careful!”




Lair Mansion has looked better. The island and the mansion on it seemed to be in a constant flux. At the moment half the mansion was as it appeared in the late 1800s, the other half was in the present era.
Of the League of Improbable Gentlemen we have Colonel Blanchford Bertram with Knifie, Dr Hakenfakir, Phineas Quimby, Hastings Vernal, US Secret Service Agent Tom Stevens and young Hopkins. They are on the 1800s side of the room staring at mostly strangers to them on the present side.
On the present era side we have Dancer, CrazySugarFreakBoy!, Lisa, Visionary, Kerry Shepardson, the LuminousLudicrousKineticKid!, Hallie and a very confused old Sir Mumphrey Wilton.
“By Jove Mumph! What has happened to you?” Bertram asked.
“Colonel? Hakenfakir? Quimby? This cant be right proper!” Sir Mumphrey replied.
“HEY! IT’S THE VICTORIAN CRAZYSUGARHERO!” CrazySugarFreakBoy! jumped around Phineas Quimby. “Hey LLKK! Remember being him?”
The LuminousLudicrousKineticKid! nodded while Quimby looked him over with one of his strange spyglasses. “Extraordinary!”
“I don’t get it. Who are these folks? Why are they dressed in their underwear?” Tom Stevens looked at Dancer with a mix of shock and mirth.
“They are the future residents of this mansion Time has become disjointed.” Hastings Vernal replied.
“Wait… where did these losers come from?” Kerry asked her big sister.
“The past I guess. Well it could be worse. At least some of them are cute.” She looked back at Tom.
After the initial shock left the two teams started to mingle. Bertram had joined Mumph to discuss tactics.
“Well old chap, I suppose the fact that you have gone on in years and Hagatha is missing must mean we have traveled into the future?”
“Right ‘O my friend, except the future part. From what the Chronometer of Infinity has told me this isn’t the past or future. It seems time has become all convoluted!”
“You mean like you do with that watch of yours?”
“Not quite. It seems time is flowing still, yet the precise week, month, year, decade and century is all confounded.”
“Is there anything you can do?”
“I’m afraid not. Our best bet is to rally the forces, see who is still available and decide what to do about it, what?”
“Of course, of course. Lets get to it then.”
“Oh and Colonel?”
“Yes Mumph?”
“It’s good to work with you again.”



In the essence of space, where all the stars and worlds of two universes seem to coexist in some strange faded existence, a strange essence travels through.
This essence was the eons old Living Waffle known as Eggo. Now it’s just a spark of life, trying to find someplace to start over.



Stacey Boaz, the witch in training known as Hat Trick looked over at Kristy Boaz, the witch in training known as Witch-Hat.
Behind Stacey was Slingshot, Boy Wonder, NTU-173 and Fleabot. Behind Kristy was Samantha Featherstone, Letitia Gahagan (the Idiom), Asil, an older Cody Harper, HyperActiveLunaticMiss!, De Winged Streak, Conner Bastion (a.k.a. Trickshot II), John Boaz (Hatman II) and the adult Christopher Waltz.
“Kristy who are they?” Katar Clement (De Winged Streak) asked his love.
“I think that’s the witch who’s spells were effecting mine!” Kristy replied.
“Watch who you’re calling names chick!” Nate, the hero called Slingshot, replied as he aimed his weapon.
“Listen punk, if you take on one Lair Legion member you take us all on!” Conner replied while aiming his bow and arrow at Slingshot.
“Yeah! Do you want some of it? You don’t threaten my sister!” John Boaz replied before his twin sister Kristy could speak up.
“No Hatman, Trickshot, YOU listen!” Samantha stepped in. “Until we know the situation both of you chill out!”
“Hey if it’s any consolation, I didn’t mean to mess up your spell. You were having the same affect on mine.” Stacey told Kristy.
“Wait a minute.” Fleabot spoke up from the Idiom’s shoulder. They were talking with Boy Wonder and Asil. “If those people with you gals are a different version of the LL’s children, what happened to the version Boy Wonder and I visited? There is only three survivors?”



At the large headquarters of the Lair Legion of Super Heroes it is the same as everywhere else. Lightning-Hat, Saturn-Ziles, Amazingly Cosmic Boy, Phantom Ghost Girl, Triple L, Chameleon Dragon, Natstar and Dream Cheryl look over at Vince Cosmo,
Fred 22, Starsparrow, and Yo-du of the Guild of the Galactic. Their three visitors have no clue how they got there.
WildYofire flies into the room with Impetuous Guard members; Astral, Elecros, GobHoblin, Impulsiveness, Meantor, Nightslide, Orankle and Smusher. “Hey I found these losers in the hall!” the brash Yo-being said.
“Who are you calling losers? We are the Impetuous Guard! Proud servants of the She-Yar Empire!” Smusher replied.
“Smusher hush! We are visitors here! Legion I am Orankle. How can we be of help?”
“Thank you Orankle! I am Saturn-Ziles. If you have any scientists among you please help the others over by the monitors. We’re trying to locate out missing friends and see what caused this strange time/space anomaly.”

Meantor joined Visionary 5, Von R Harper and Vistinex at the control center. Standing beside these extremely smart men and boys was Justin Tyme.
Justin was a time traveler from another era who has been lost bouncing between seconds through out the ages ever since the Crisis began. Now that time has halted his timer has shut down.
Relived to final have stopped Justin doesn’t say a word. He just doubles over and throws up.



Antarctica, where the few remains of a once mighty star ship lies in ruins.
Her name was Vessel. She was a sentient ship with a constantly depressed personality. She had a long life serving many masters but the most resent was the Earth super team, the JBH.
Thanks to the Cowled Criminal she was blown up. Now a high priestess named Ebony and an offspring of the Manga Shoggoth called Cthandra shuffled through the frozen wasteland to the smoking ruins of Vessel.
“All right Cthandra let’s dissolve the hatch. Careful now. Anyone inside will be exposed suddenly to the outside freezing temperatures so you will have to cover them almost instantly. Do you think you can do that?”
Cthandra was in fact a part of the Manga Shoggoth’s main bio-mass. She (if you could use the word she) acted very much like a little child version. “Yes, I believe so Ebony.”
“Alright. Do it.” Ebony was clothed in heavy winter clothing so that she would not freeze here at the south continent.
Cthandra flowed over the escape hatch, dissolving it as she went. As soon as it was gone Ebony felt the heat escape from with the ship. “It’s warm in here! Come on, lets see if everyone is still alive!”
She ran down the corridor as the small Shoggoth sloshed behind. Soon they had moved around a corner and saw an amazing sight.

Eli the Elemental was in his fire form, filling the wrecked communications chamber with plenty of heat. Jack Rabbit was helping Kid Produce up. The vegetable hero looked to be in shock.
Desert Rose was holding up Amazing Guy. The hero was speaking, “Just a few minutes more and I should be up to enough strength to get us out of here.” AG looked like he had been through the ringer.
Horizon and Jackie Rabbit were on the other side of the room speaking to a cracked, fuzzy view screen.
Ebony spoke up, “JBH! Amazing Guy saved you! It’s me, Ebony. I’m a friend of the Lair Legion. We’ve come to rescue you!”
“Thank you Ebony. You’re a life saver!” Jackie responded.
“Quite literally!” Jack, her twin brother, added.
“You should know that I didn’t save them.” AG added as he tried to stand. He was still out of it. “I’m too weak to help. It was her who saved us.”
“Her who?” then she realized who Jackie was talking to. She started to hear the conversation that everyone else was listening to.
Jackie was sobbing, “No Vessel! Listen! Help has arrived! Let us take your central net with us! Please! Don’t die!”
The somber tones of the sentient space ship replied through static, “I’m sorrRRIIEy J…Jackkkkkiee. Th… the daAAMage is TO much. Therrrrre is NOOthing anyONNNe cAAAn doooo.”
Seeing the confused look on Ebony’s face Desert Rose filled her in, “When she started to explode section after section we didn’t know what do. AG was out cold while Horizon and Eli don’t have the abilities to shield or transport us from the explosion and fall. Vessel knew this and acted fast. She poured all her power into shielding this room. She saved us all.”
Tears continued to flow down Jackie’s face, “Oh Vessel. Why did you do it? Why did you save us?”
“BeeeeeCuase I loooooove allll of yoooooo………”
That was all she could say as her last amount of power winked out.
The only noises that could be heard was the cold, harsh artic wind outside and Jackie’s sobbing.
The ship that had come to be more to the JBH had given her life for them. Vessel was gone.



Just outside the Parodyverse X Emporium several heroes find themselves staring into another world.
Members of the Lair Legion and the Den Defenders as well as some solo heroes stood transfixed. Gathered were the following; Hatman (Satireverse version), Angelheart, the Acoustic Avenger, CrazySugarFreakBabe!, Fugleman, Veggie-Boy, Jarvis, Hunter Victorious, Goldeneyed, the Librarian, NTU-150, the Dark Knight, Crimson Courier, Fashion Accessory and Yuki Shiro.
They were looking through a transparent wall that showed the Satireopolis Mall. This was the main mall in a major city of the Satireverse. Everything on the other side of the wall was not perfectly in color but instead had a bluish tint

In the Satireopolis Mall, on the Satireverse side, various members of the Den Defenders, Lair Legion and other solo heroes likewise looked through the wall to see the Parodyverse in the bluish tint. The heroes gathered were; Hatman (Parodyverse version), Manga Shoggoth, Mr. Epitome, Ham-Boy, Messenger, Frogman, Deathstar Druid, Sayaana, Miiri, ManMan with Knifie, spiffy, Cobra, Historic Von El, Madam Chef, Kid Butcher, Cody Harper (the Satireverse version), Golden Boy, War-350, Thundar and Andrew Dean Agent of the Man.

Messenger cursed and said, “Jarvis? Crimson Courier? Ah no, not again! I’m loosing my mind!”
“If you are old pal then so am I!” spiffy replied.
CrazySugarFreakBabe! Held her boy friend, Dominic Clancy, the Fugleman, and pointed to the Satireverse. “Golden Boy? Bry? It can’t be! You died years ago!”
“Is that me? I look so… upset.” Fugleman said to her as he spied Epitome.
Hunter Victorious and Historic Von El both eyed each other suspiciously.
“You’re that older Hatman from the Satireverse. I remember you.” Jay Boaz, the PV Hatman said from the Satireverse side.
“And you’re my Parodyverse counterpart. But what are you and your heroes doing on my side?”
“I could say the same about you. Shoggoth any idea?”
“Yes. Actually I do know what has transpired Jay Boaz. Instead of explaining it however, I will wait for the teleporter beam to snatch us all to its home location. I believe the answers are waiting for us on the other side.”

With another bright flash all the heroes are gone. Not just those here at the malls but ALL the heroes across both Earths.

GOOD BYE OLD FRIEND NOTE:
In the summer of ’99 I followed a link from the Avengers Message Board to this place. The Parodyverse. At the time it was called the Baron Zemo’s Lair.
The first story I looked at was Untold Tales of the Lair Legion #2: The Wedding of Jarvis and Melissa.

So after a few months I took Visionary’s advice (blame him!) and wrote myself into the Parodyverse.
I wanted to know who was who in this strange universe so I created Fluffy, the robot bunny.


And this post is all that I have of the Lurker’s first message…

I then posted a comic book fan fiction story I previously started on the comic message boards. I called it Infinite Crisis (no lie! It’s true!

Bet DC did a search and copied my title. Considering how much of a rip off of their stories (and Marvel’s) I’m glad that’s all they did! LOL!

Yes Jay was right. See while I was posting this fan fiction story I also responded to other’s stories as the Lurker. I did not give the usual "Good story" response. Instead I posted a brief scene of this mysterious Lurker watching the story events from his ship.

So now people were riled. Some were put off because it wasn’t several new posters but a clown playing several parts.
Anyway I continued. I wrote a story that showed my original posting handle, Access, as he was split into two people; the good Lurker and evil Narrator.
Ever sense then the Lurker has been around, helping the heroes whenever he could.

With this story he is gone. I feel kind of sad to be saying good bye to this character after all this time but it’s time to let go. I’ve kind of out grown a lot of my characters. This Crisis was supposed to have happened years ago but life distracted me quite a bit. Anyway now that I’m finally doing it I can put out to pasture a lot of characters I no longer want.
He wont be the last to go and not all the good byes may happen in Crisis.

So good bye Lurker and Vessel. It was fun.
